Early last year, OPSO became aware of an unusual rule from the AOA Board of Specialists that limited the number of CME credits that a physician could earn at OPSO (or any other osteopathic state society) CME programs. The limitation was only placed on osteopathic state societies.

Since hearing about the rule, OPSO has been working working with various stakeholders to rescind this unfair policy. We are pleased to announce that on November 21, 2014, the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists approved ECS Resolution No. 1 rescinding this policy, retroactive to January 1, 2013 - the beginning of the current AOA CME cycle.

This means that you may receive an unlimited amount of specialty credit from attending OPSO CME programs.

Please make sure to check your AOA CME report to ensure your specialty credits have been properly recorded for OPSO programs. You may check your CME report at the AOA website - www.osteopathic.org
