I am a volunteer provider at the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic in Oregon City. The clinic is part of a network of clinics that provide free medical care to the indigent. It is staffed by a group of physicians from the community at large. Many are retired but desire to continue to serve some are still in active practice. They share a common goal to help the folks in the area. We do not prescribe narcotics nor do we prescribe benzodiazapenes. We work four hour shifts Tuesday from 1-5 , Wednesday 1-5 and Thursday evenings 5-9. To assist with electronic medical records we have young premed students as scribes. The providers are ably assisted by RNs who are also volunteering. We have access to laboratory services and X-ray services at the nearby Willamette Falls Providence Hospital.
If a retired or active osteopathic physician has a desire to be of service but without the encumbrance of professional fees this clinic offers that opportunity.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve!
