DESCRIPTION

This year’s event will address burnout and turnover, while providing strategies for creating individual and organizational hope and resiliency. In their pursuit of improved patient safety, organizations that take care of their own realize other benefits, including a positive financial impact.

We will also hold our annual recognition luncheon, honoring leading participants in our Patient Safety Reporting Program, as well as other healthcare organizations that are doing groundbreaking patient safety work here in Oregon.

Keynote Address and Workshops

Timothy McDonald, MD, JD
We will be joined by Tim McDonald, a national leader in patient safety, the Director for the Center for Open and Honest Communication at the MedStar Institute for Quality and Safety, and a Professor of Law at Loyola University Chicago. As a physician, an attorney, and a researcher, Tim offers a unique perspective and principled approach to patient harm.
