Open and free for all Osteopathic Medical Students. Registration will be limited to the first 25 students.


Mark Bladwin, DO, FACOI lead this afternoon workshop on acid base disorders and fluid balance. This will be a series of interactive talks explaining metabolic and respiratory acidosis and alkalosis in practical and clinical terms, how to approach a patient with one or several of these disorders. There will also be a talk on fluid and salt balance.



About Dr. Baldwin


Dr. Mark D. Baldwin graduated from Kansas city University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and internal medicine residency at Midwestern University-Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center. He did a nephrology fellowship at Northwestern University and Loyola University in Chicago. Throughout his career he has been closely involved in every aspect and level of medical education including the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Ohio State University. After several decades in Columbus, Ohio he recently became professor and chair of the department of internal medicine at Pacific Northwest University in Yakima, Washington.
