Dr. Charlie Ross, with Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Robyn Dreibelbis and Scott Wagnon, PA-C, will share the benefits of a plant-based diet and its impact on health and wellness. This program is accredited for 5 AOA Category 1-A Continuing Medical Education credits. While this program is designed as physician education, registration is open to anyone interested in learning about lifestyle medicine.

Charlie Ross, DO, has been a practicing osteopathic physician in Oregon for about 38 years. He graduated from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1975 and is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and Family Practice. Currently, he teaches at COMP Northwest in Lebanon, Oregon. He has spent years researching the best exercise plan, the best diet, and ways to manage stress.
A physician and nutrition expert who teaches better health through vegetarian cuisine, John A. McDougall, MD has been studying, writing, and speaking out about the effects of nutrition on disease for over 50 years.  Dr. McDougall believes that people should look and feel great for a lifetime. Unfortunately, many people unknowingly compromise their health through poor dietary habits. A graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine, Dr. McDougall performed his internship at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and his medical residency at the University of Hawaii. He is certified as an internist by the Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Medical Examiners.  Heis also the co-author of several nationally best-selling books as well as the co-founder of Dr. McDougall’s Right Foods, which produces high quality vegetarian cuisine to make it easier for people to eat well on the go.
Scott Wagnon, PA-C, became a physician assistant because he wanted to get to know his patients over the long term and to be an advocate for their health and improve the quality of their lives and their families. Prior to beginning his physician assistant career he worked as a paramedic for ten years and was a paramedic at Oregon Health and Science University on the level one trauma team. Scott has been working as a physician assistant in family medicine, pain management, sports medicine, orthopedics and diabetic care since 2005.  Scott’s medical areas of interest include preventative medicine, diabetes, obesity and sports medicine.
Dr. Robyn Dreibelbis embodies the definition of doctor = teacher. She takes every opportunity to educate her patients on the power of lifestyle choices in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. She continues to teach one-on-one in the office setting and also as a team physician and medical director for the athletic training program at Linfield College in McMinnville. This ties closely to her lifelong focus on health, wellness, and fitness for her, her family, and for the patients that she has cared for over the years. With the creation of the Healthy Living and Wellness Initiative housed at Western University of Health Sciences/COMP-Northwest, Dr. Dreibelbis continues to educate students and the community about the positive impact of lifestyle medicine.

There is no charge for the course; however, OPSO suggests a donation to the Oregon Osteopathic Foundation to support our ongoing educational endeavors.

Please note that the Portland Farmer's Market opens at 8:30am in the south park blocks so please allow additional time to park.
