Regence Audit Update

OPSO and the AOA have continued to work with Regence regarding the recent increase in insurance audits, particularly for physicians who perform OMT. We remain committed to providing resources to our members to assist in appropriate billing, and have continued efforts with Regence to improve communication and address the administrative issues many of you have reported.

As you know, in March 2013 Regence suspended insurance audits. Additionally, Regence has agreed to refund physicians who had funds recouped as a result of these audits. As of June 30, 2013 all refunds on fund recoupments have been completed.

If you have continued to receive audit requests from Regence, have received a payment recoupment request, or have funds that have recently been recouped due to an audit, please contact your provider relations representative at Regence. If you are unable to reach your provider relations representative or are not getting a response please contact OPSO and we will assist you.

It is critical that you contact OPSO if you are experiencing problems so we can advocate on your behalf with the latest information. Watch your email in the next few weeks for a follow-up survey.
