COMP-Northwest launches DREAM program experience for undergraduate students

“Diversity Recognized, Emphasized and Assimilated into Medicine”

The DREAM Program is the newest free enrichment program offered by WesternU COMP-Northwest. This program is designed to promote diversity at the COMP-Northwest campus and in the greater Osteopathic Medicine Community.


• As a participant (Dreamer), one will spend 2 ½ days exploring the journey of Medical School
• Each day will explore different components of the medical school experience including:
+ the application process
+ pre-clinical and rotational years
+ matching/residency
• Free housing options are available, and some meals provided


Who can be a Dreamer:
- Students who are interested in a career in healthcare are encouraged to apply
- To be eligible, each applicant must be an underrepresented racial/ethnic minority (African American, Native American, Alaska Native or Native Hawaiian; mainland Puerto Rican or Hispanic American; Asian American/Pacific Islander)
If you do not identify with these populations, however still consider yourself of minority identity please email

- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status as of Fall 2018) or graduate program OR have previously obtained a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree

- No GPA requirements to participate in the program but a 2.5 GPA is suggested
